Hope to see some of you in Harrisburg next week and for those of you in the Toronto or Edmonton area we will be hitting both those shows in March. Amanda will be attending the show held in Toronto and I'll be setting up a booth in Edmonton, Alberta during the same week.

Over the years Jack Hume Adventures has been fortunate enough to host some of the top media characters from the hunting industry. For 2012 Jim and Eva Shockey are lined up to hunt with us and produce a show with us to air on the Outdoor Channel and on Wild TV.

All guns must be registered with a Canadian customs official before entering the country.
There is a $25.00 fee for which you can register up to 3 rifles on the same declaration form. We recommend paying by Visa or MasterCard. The necessary declaration forms can be downloaded at the following link:

www.cfc-cafc.gc.ca/online-en_ligne/form-assistance/indiv_forms/909_e.asp

If you would prefer to have the declaration form mailed to you, please request one from a Jack Hume Adventures representative.  Having this form completed before hand should reduce the time lost at customs however do not sign it!

Note: This form must be signed in front of a Customs officer. Anyone with a felony could be refused entry to Canada. If you have been charged with a felony we recommend you check your status with Canadian Immigration concerning entry.  By completing the forms at the following link you may apply for a pardon for entry into Canada:

Here are some guidelines:

  • Pack guns and ammo separately in locked cases. Guns should have gunlocks or bolts removed. Pack firearms where readily accessible.
  • No handguns or fully automatic weapons allowed for hunting.
  • Clips are limited to five rounds.
  • Rifles must have min. barrel length of 470mm or 18.5 inches.
  • For hunting Caribou rifles must be of .243 cal. or larger.  Muzzle-loaders must be of .50 cal. or larger.
  • Be able to produce photo identification (passport, drivers license).
  • Must have a hunter safety card or hunting license from your state.
  • Keep your confirmed declaration for subsequent trips.
  • For those using black powder firearms, you are not legally allowed to fly with black powder.   Let us know (no later than July) if you need some, and if so, what kind.  We will have it for you to purchase in Schefferville.
