Over the years Jack Hume Adventures has been fortunate enough to host some of the top media characters from the hunting industry. For 2012 Jim and Eva Shockey are lined up to hunt with us and produce a show with us to air on the Outdoor Channel and on Wild TV.

10 Good Reasons To Choose Us

  1. Experience: A 2nd generation family owned and operated business, the Hume’s have been guiding and outfitting caribou hunters since 1972! We have a very select group of employees of which some have been with us for 10-20 years.
  2. High Ratio of Spare Camps/ Camps BookedAlthough JHA has access to over 50 hunting territories, scattered throughout northern Quebec, we strictly book 4 camps per week with 8 hunters/camp. Which leaves us with a huge ratio of over 10 spare camps for every camp booked! We also hire a couple of spare guides in order to scout other spare camps that have potential to be hit by migrating caribou, the scouts are equipped with satellite phones or radios and contact us daily to inform us about any caribou movement in their area which in return allows us to keep a close monitor on the caribou and relocate hunters as required.
  3.  Access to the caribou herds both bellow and above the 57th North: JHA recently acquired the outfitting licenses, assets and camps (territories) of both Luco and Caribou Adventures and also has access to some prime hunting camps located above the 57th which in return allows us to lay claim to having access to more territories covering more of the migration routes than any other outfitter operating in northern Quebec. What this means to clients is that above or bellow the 57th we have a plan in place to get you into caribou! After all that is what you are coming hunting with us for!
  4. Customer Satisfaction: JHA lays claim to the highest repeat business in the industry. Over 80% of our clients actually rebook to hunt with us more than once. Some of our clients have actually returned with us as many as 16 times!
  5. Mobility:  We own and operate our own private Cessna 185 and we also use the services of the largest float plane operator in Canada "Air Saguenay". Should a move to a more productive camp become warranted it can  normally be done without hesitations or complications (weather permitting).
  6. Success: Over the past three decades JHA has provided their clients with a success rate 2nd to none averaging over 90% success year after year. Keeping in mind JHA only offers fair chase hunts.
  7. Owner Operated: Richard’s wife, Amanda not only greets each and every client in Montreal before the charter flight but she actually accompanies hunters to and from the float plane base before and after their hunt. Richard is stationed at the float plane base where he is in constant communication with the camps and actually visits each of the camps throughout the week. Should you have any unanswered questions or enquiries Richard and/or Amanda are always available.
  8. Safety: Each of our guides is trained in Wilderness 1st Aid and survival. Furthermore our private Cessna is always on call should an emergency arise at camp.
  9. Fair Chase Hunts: Outfitters who do not maintain enough spare camps are often forced to hunt illegally outside their assigned territories (poaching). Their hunters are often dropped off in unauthorized areas given a few hours to shoot a caribou and then flown back to their non productive camps (weather permitting!) for the remainder of their stay. As far as the outfitter is concerned he has fulfilled his obligation. JHA only offers fair chase hunts. Because we have many camps to choose from scattered over such a vast territory most of our hunters can hunt the duration of their stay from a productive camp. Should they harvest a record book caribou they can certainly enter their trophy into the record books knowing that they full well deserve the recognition.
  10. Price Competitive: Many outfitters who claim to offer similar hunts to JHA don’t have access to the caribou both north and south of the 57th parallel, don’t have as high a ratio of spare camps to choose from, don’t have experienced qualified employees, don’t offer fair chase hunts, don’t have the highest repeat business, aren’t owner/operated, and who don’t have as much experience charge similar amounts and in some case even more for their hunts!
